Basia Mille was a boutique vineyard in the South Gippsland wine region of Victoria that we established in 1998. We were early in the region at that time. Now the region is establishing a significant presence for fine cool climate whites and, long, mellow, full flavoured reds. Basia Mille specialised in the two Pinots, either as still wines or as a delicious sparkling, lusty and full of life. Those who visited the Cellar Door over the twenty years we owned the property will attest to the quality and personality of the wines on offer. The vineyard was sold in May, 2018. The new owners are continuing the maintenance of the vineyard.
Geraldine and Tony have a goodly number of Basia Mille bottles to sell for your enjoyment and pleasure.
Basia Mille means a ‘thousand passionate kisses’. It was the name given to the property on which this vineyard was first established. While it was dedicated to the early Latin poet, Gaius Valerius Catullus, Geraldine and Tony always maintained that a great bottle of wine contained a thousand passionate kisses, especially if it was opened for a special occasion by special people.
